Although in the online world, lone voices like Mr Quek’s often appear in danger of being drowned out by the cacophony of malcontent whingeing, I would like to assure him and others of similar sentiment that, in the real world, their voices are part of a chorus that resonate with a much larger segment of [...]

My Other Day Job

These may be the funniest photos we took in the last… 3 years? Or perhaps ever!
The posey, events-page pictures are over at the other blog – take a look if you have time!
Over here, I shall put up the behind-the-scenes, often blurry shots, which incidentally also tell a better story of what really happened [...]
This Takes The Cake

Pun totally intended.
And this may be the most fabulous cake I’d ever seen.
I can’t remember the last time I felt this surprised
Thanks Girls!

I wonder if the opposite is always attractive.
Because sometimes (like right now), I really feel like having wavy, blond hair which when scrutinised individually, looks almost transluscent.
Which is kind of weird, considering that most of the time, I just want red hair very badly.
The other most of the time, I am so attached to my [...]
Culminating In A Public Hanging

Me: So how’s your disaster (some shit at work)?
N: Its coming along fine, all things considered. It will probably culminate in a public hanging. I’m glad we’re on track.
Me: You’re funny. You should write. No, blog!
Coming across people with a funny-as-hell way with words is fabulous

I like this photo.
It was taken at the Casual Poet, a little ‘mom & pop store’ selling an assortment of random, mostly paper-made goodies (i.e. magazines, books, cards). It is also part cafe, where they served wholesome snacks and comforting beverages.
They have a really interesting blog going on here.
All in all, a lovely, cozy space [...]
Parallel Universe(s)

In a parallel universe, I am a food critic.
I eat, I write, and I eat again. There is no need for me to use words like succulent or exquisite because in this particular parallel universe, this is sooo good will more than suffice.
In another parallel universe, I am a domestic goddess specializing in baked pastries.
I [...]
So Modern

Unfuck the World.
- On a T-shirt, on the train.
Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, bar & pie charts and statistics epitomize the spirit of the modern era, which peaked during the wildly progressive years of the 20th century.
Look! The rows of numbers add themselves up. The words appear in a checkered pattern. The chart is 100% round. [...]
Unright Side of the Bed

Today I woke up feeling out of sorts.
Its either the dream I was having (which I can’t recall now) or that I slept at almost 2 am the night before, gasping at the incredible antics of the Men’s Synchronized Diving finalists (really awesome).
I came in to work, saw the photo below, and am now obsessed [...]

Every morning, after getting in to office, I clear any outstanding (once again, I’m wondering why I’m using words like this) matters, and spent the next half an hour or so doing my daily readings.
I’d been adding new links to my Google Reader recently, and my backlog of readings can get so huge that I [...]
