“Now, eat that hot dog as slowly as possible. Men like to watch women put phallic-shaped things into their mouths.”
- The Ugly Truth
I went for a late night screening of this with Angeline over the weekends.
I love late night shows!
It was reasonably funny, easy on the mind.
Which, coincidentally, is [...]

500 Days of Summer

Edit:// Okay, just found out – its opening 20 August. Goodie.
I’d heard good things about this movie recently.
Also, I heart Zooey Deschanel. She’s so cute. I want to be her.
But I don’t even know if its going to show here, already showing or stopped showing.
Then I’ll have to find someone to watch it with me.

I’m looking forward to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The thing I like best about the whole story is how there is no happily ever after. Both good and bad people die (rather consistently towards the end), there is no miraculous resolution or restoration of what is lost.
The final triumph of Light over Dark is [...]

I think I’m in love with Marty McFly. Seriously. He’s so cute.
HAHA!
Sometimes, I think its almost unhealthy how much I enjoy movies from the ’80s.
And Converse high-tops rocks. Only I don’t look good in mine because they cut off at the wrong place and make me look like I have carrots for legs [...]

If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
- Spock, Star Trek (2009)
It is particularly fascinating for me when logic is poetic. Its the perfect coming together of two extremes. But of course, if you think of it all as a circle, then there really are no opposing ends.
The Boyfriend and [...]

Last night, the Boyfriend and I caught the midnight show for Star Trek. I never had any intention of watching it until Angeline wrote that it was surprisingly good. That was about the 3rd good review I’d heard of the movie (plus another couple from the Boyfriend’s side) so there’s good reason to find out [...]

Once upon a time, I wrote exhaustively long and detailed captions for all of my photographs because I believed (then) that pictures should always be contextualized by words. I’m compulsive obsessive about capturing what’s just outside the frame.
Today, I am no longer young enough for that
This photo is great because for once, inanimate [...]

The things you own will end up owning you.
- Tyler Durden in The Fight Club
Recently, I feel tired most of the time. Somehow or other, I haven’t been getting enough sleep. Far from enough! Can anyone, in our modern madness, ever get enough sleep?

This couple of weeks I’d been watching plenty of DVDs. That’s partly [...]

I’m American, honey. Our names don’t mean shit.
- Butch in Pulp Fiction
Film Club on Friday went pretty well
I was late for about 20 minutes and still managed to be the earliest. Then I accidentally ate dinner at Anne’s.
We watched Pulp Fiction – I bought the DVD for 5 dollars at my workplace’s recent [...]
